Board Chair Kenyon Weaver along with Board Members Jill Miller, Bob Hsu and Laura Adams organized and hosted an incredibly successful "Myhmanchilik" (Guesting) in Washington, DC on February 2nd. With the help and support of numerous volunteers including Susannah Weaver, Sari Long and so many others, the event was a tremendous success raising more than $2,000 to support scholarships and emergency funding for Turkmen students.
According to Weaver, "The goal of the event was to first thank all the supporters of the Arzuw Foundation and inform everyone about the great work that their generosity has made happen."
The fundraiser included authentic food and libations, including genuine shashlyk, plov, manti, samsas, as well as cocktails and a Baltika selection. The fundraiser also included some Turkmenistan trivia and a very successful silent auction. A Turkmen rug, Turkmen jewelry, gift cards and more were auctioned off to benefit the Arzuw Foundation.
