The Arzuw Foundation is very excited to announce the launch of our newest program and resource for Turkmen college students. The Education Bridge Fund is a brand new resource that will provide one-time, emergency financial aid to Turkmen students who encounter unexpected obstacles to paying for their undergraduate educations. In its first year the program expects to award $7,500 to students in need.
The Education Bridge Fund will review applications on a quarterly basis and provide awards to students both on need and on merit. Awards are a combination grant and no-interest loan. The exact breakdown of a financial award is determined by the Education Bridge Fund Committee based on the student's personal circumstances.
Executive Director Sarah Lange said of the program, "The Arzuw Foundation strives to create partnerships with Turkmen students who are working hard to make their educations abroad possible. We want to provide these students with the tools and resources they need as a safety net to make sure they can stay in school even when a parent loses a job or unexpected school fees pop up. By incorporating a non-interest loan component into the program we can ensure the Education Bridge Fund is sustainable in the long term and able to help many students for years to come."
