The Turkmen College Guide was first published in 2007 and it was distributed to students across Turkmenistan. This reference guide is now produced annually by and for Turkmen students who wish to study in American or European universities. The Turkmen College Guide gives first-hand accounts of university life from the perspective of Turkmen students, lists colleges at which international students have the best chance of receiving financial aid and highlights those schools with strong Central Asian programs. The Turkmen College Guide is widely distributed throughout Turkmenistan.

The Turkmen College Guide was a project that arose from the lack of information sources about education in western colleges and universities that applicants from Turkmenistan could access.  This unique project is organized by Turkmen students for Turkmen students.  From start the finish the Turkmen College Guide is developed by young Turkmen who have themselves navigated the often difficult and complex path to achieving a college education abroad.

The 4th Edition of the Turkmen College Guide is available in Turkmen, Russian and English and hard copies were distributed throughout Turkmenistan in early 2012.  For students with internet access (or for anyone advising a Turkmen student on college), it's also accessible here on our website.

If you have suggestions or would like to contribute to the 5th Edition of the Turkmen College Guide, please email college guide@arzuw.org

We have also developed a website that became a hub for all Turkmen students to  communicate, exchange their success stories and share experiences among each other, as well as to receive information from the fellow students and advisors on how to enter into the college and get the best experience out of it.
